Do I need a patch test?
Yes. Patch testing may be required 24–48 hours before treatment for lash lifts, tinting, brow lamination and some skin treatments to ensure there is no sensitivity or allergic reaction.
Do I need a consultation?
Yes. Every client receives a personal consultation before treatment to assess suitability, discuss expectations and ensure the best results.
How long do treatments take?
Treatment times vary depending on the service, but most appointments take between 45 minutes and 3 hours. Full timings will be discussed during consultation.
Is there any downtime?
Some treatments such as microneedling or chemical peels may cause mild redness for 24–48 hours, similar to a light sunburn. Full aftercare advice will always be provided.
How long do results last?
Results vary depending on the treatment and your skin type.
Typical durations include:
• Hairstroke Brows – approximately 12–36 months before a refresh
• Lash Lift – 6–8 weeks
• Brow Lamination – around 6 weeks
• Skin treatments – results improve with a course of treatments
What should I do before my appointment?
For the best results:
✔ Arrive with clean skin and minimal makeup
✔ Follow any patch testing instructions
✔ Inform your practitioner of medical conditions or medications
✔ Stay hydrated before skin treatments
What should I avoid before treatment?
For 48 hours before advanced skin treatments (microneedling, chemical peels):
✖ Retinol or vitamin A products
✖ Strong exfoliating acids
✖ Excessive sun exposure or tanning
✖ Waxing or hair removal in the treatment area
✖ Alcohol the night before
What should I avoid after treatment?
After advanced skin treatments please avoid:
✖ Makeup for 24 hours
✖ Retinol or active skincare for several days
✖ Excess heat (saunas, steam rooms)
✖ Direct sun exposure
✖ Touching or picking the treated area
Daily SPF is strongly recommended.
Can I have treatments if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Some treatments are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, including:
• Chemical peels
• Microneedling
• Some active skincare treatments
Gentler treatments may still be suitable. Please inform us before booking so the safest options can be recommended.
Who may not be suitable for treatment?
Treatment may need to be postponed if you have:
• Active skin infections
• Cold sores in the treatment area
• Open wounds or irritated skin
• Severe sunburn
• Certain medical conditions or medications
In some cases GP approval may be required for advanced treatments.
Where is the studio located?
Feather Edits Studio is a private home-based studio offering one-to-one treatments in a calm, professional environment. Clients are welcomed at the gate and escorted through to the studio for their appointment.
What if I need to reschedule?
If you need to rearrange your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours notice where possible so the appointment can be offered to another client.
